The Artistic Gateway Arch now spans Market Street. It connects Ottumwa’s south side with historic Downtown and anchors the Market Street Landing area.

Key features include:

Local history on display. The arch reuses trusses from the historic Ottumwa Coliseum. A meaningful piece of the city’s story lives on.

A clear downtown entrance. Positioned on Market Street, the arch marks the gateway into Downtown Ottumwa and signals arrival for residents and visitors.

Now serving as a public art feature: With its illuminated design, the arch stands out as a unique and attractive feature of the Riverfront.

Stronger community connection. The arch guides people between the Riverfront and Downtown, encouraging movement between Bridge View Center, Beach Ottumwa, Southeast Iowa Sports Center, Wissota Chophouse, and the Cobblestone Hotel.
